zentaro Kamei

Chief Political Advisor

PHP Research Institute Senior Fellow; Professor, Rikkyo University; Member of the Advisory Board for ODA

Zentaro Kamei is a former Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, and a former member of the House of Representatives in the Diet. Prior to politics, he worked for the Industrial Bank of Japan and Boston Consulting Group.
He is a senior fellow at the PHP Research Institute, a think tank devoted to ensure “Peace, Prosperity, and Happiness” established in 1946 by the founder of Panasonic Inc. His research includes the private sector’s comparative advantages in promoting conflict resolutions for public policy issues, in addition to policy making in Japan’s economic and fiscal policy, social security policy, and science and technology policy. He is also currently a Specially Appointed Professor at the Graduate School of Design for the 21st Century, Rikkyo University, and a member of multiple advisory boards for the GoJ including the Advisory Board for ODA.

Sayako kanamori

Chief Strategic Advisor

Dr. Sayako Kanamori is currently a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at the Center for the Study of Co*Design and Institute for Transdisciplinary Graduate Degree Programs, Osaka University. Before joining Osaka University, she was a Director of Research Department and a Chief health Officer at the Japan Institute for Global Health (2012-2017), Health Specialist at Global Health Policy Division, International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (2009-2012), and business consultant specialized in finance and accounting management (2004-2006). She obtained her BA in Biological Sciences at the University of Tsukuba, MSc in Medical Parasitology at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University of London and Ph.D in Health Science at the University of Tokyo. Her main research focuses on health policy, global health diplomacy, health promotion and healthcare business.


Dr. Wrishmeen Sabawoon

Senior Advisor

Dr. Wrishmeen Sabawoon is a global health and public health specialist with extensive experience in Afghanistan. He graduated from Kabul Medical University in 1999, worked as a Primary Health Care (PHC) training officer in the Nangahar Province, and later as the PHC Director with the Ministry of Public Health. Dr. Sabawoon also worked as the Health and Information System and Nutrition Manager and Provincial Coordinator with the International Medical Corps (IMC), a renowned non-governmental organization. He was part of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) in 2013 as an epidemiologist in the Office of the President's Focal Point for Polio Eradication based in the Presidential Office in Kabul city, Afghanistan from 2013-2019, where he concurrently received his doctorate in epidemiology at the University of Tokyo. Dr. Sabawoon is currently a Senior Advisor at LIAISON as well as a visiting researcher at the Decision-Making Laboratory, Center for Decision Making, Waseda University.

dr. Makoto Aoki

Chief Medical Advisor

Dr. Makoto Aoki is an infectious disease consultant that is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease. Dr. Aoki is a senior member of the American College of Physicians who provides medical education to up-and-coming physicians at hospitals across Japan. Over the past two decades, he has authored and updated the resident’s manual on infectious disease, tagged the “infectious disease bible for clinicians” in Japan. In 2012, he was listed as one of the top 10 leaders in the advancement of medicine and medical care in Japan by the Nikkei Medical Journal.

Eitaro hidaka, jd

Eitaro graduated from Keio University Law School in 2016, and subsequently accepted a position at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune (AMT). As an associate, Eitaro specializes in corporate M&A and general corporate litigation. He has also published a chapter on space law including the frontiers in technology with AMT. He is happily married to his wife who also shares the same birthday.

Travis Hungreder

Travis Hungreder is the CCO of Maven DEI Asset Management LLC. He began working in the investment field in 2014. Prior to his current role, he was the Vice President in the Legal & Compliance department of Lazard Asset Management LLC. He has a BS in Psychology with a minor in Economics from Vassar College and an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business in New York City.

MIT Lincoln Laboratory

Tanya is a PhD Student in the Speech and Hearing Biosciences and Technology program at Harvard University. She is interested in using speech biomarkers to diagnose, assess, and track neurological disorders, with a current focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder.

moe miyahara

Moe is an Associate Durable Solutions Officer with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kakuma, Kenya. Her humanitarian field experience includes Bidibidi refugee settlement in Uganda and Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, both as project managers with international NGOs. Prior to that, she worked with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd in Osaka and Tokyo, in Global HR and later as a certified medical representative. She has a BA in International Liberal Studies from Waseda University and an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
